Candied wild blueberries in a soft maple centre, dipped - twice - in Belgian dark chocolate.

That's one of the chocolates we make; the others include centres made from real maple syrup, blueberries, raspberries and cherries. We dip these twice in Belgian or French dark, milk or white chocolate to make unique and wonderful confections. We wrap each chocolate in coloured foil to identify the flavour, for protection from bumps, and because it makes them look special (which they are!).

We have found these small boxes at All Occasions Giftware in Ontario. Marika, the owner, tells us that they are Canadian made. They are nicely shaped and the colours are smooth and uniform. We started using the dark and gold boxes as business premiums for conferences, dinners and corporate events, but when we discovered the pastel colours we realised that they would make excellent wedding favours. And they do!

We usually stock brown, blue, gold, red and ivory boxes; all of the other colours are avilable as special orders.

We prepare an insert liner that includes a custom message and that's the first thing your guests see as they open the box. The back of the insert includes ingredients list and other important details. We seal the box with one of our labels, either the Flavours of the Maritimes label or a round gold Appleton Chocolates label. We usually put a Made by hand in Wentworth, NS sticker on the bottom. Many brides tie on a fine ribbon to match their colours.

You may have your choice of our flavours and foil colours. Most brides choose the maple and blueberry chocolates because they are so distinctly Nova Scotian.

Our foil colours are: red, fuchsia, pink; dark green and light green and chartreuse; dark blue and light blue; dark purple and light purple, gold, sliver, copper, black.

Our price for a box of two chocolates, including customised insert, is $2.75 each, plus shipping and HST.

Many brides use their own bags or boxes and buy our chocolates loose and package them up themselves. In that case, we sell our chocolates in your choice of flavour and foil colours for $12.50 per dozen.
