We can not ship to addresses in the USA.
The reasons are here.

Ordering Information

We have a number of different packages for our chocolates, and you may specify any combination in your order. You may also specify any combination of flavours, as we generally pack each order from the bins to ensure that everyone gets fresh product. Most people choose an assortment of flavours, but some want all in dark chocolate, some want only the wild blueberry flavours, etc.

We offer several packages where we will mail a gift to a friend on your behalf, and the prices of these packages, including postage and GST, is listed below.

For the rest, our minimum mailed order is $50 before postage and GST, although this can be any combination of packages.

If you have any questions or to place an order, please send us an email or call us at (902) 548-2323 or toll-free in Canada at (888) 354-5355.

We accept Visa but we cannot accept other cards. Sorry.

Our Sampler

our sampler

This is the simplest, easiest way to try our chocolates. We make them flat so they will go through the mail as a letter, rather than as a parcel.

We package up 8 chocolates in a stiff sleeve, wrap it with tissue, and mail it off to you (or your friends). More information and pictures here.

$13.00 per package of 8 chocolates, postage and GST all included.

We think that this will work particularly well for businesses who need a small gift sent to special customers. We can include a customised a card for you, or you could send us in advance a small supply of your business cards with a note on the back. We could do lots of interesting things with this package . . .

Loose Chocolates, in dozens.

loose dozens

This is how we most commonly ship our chocolates: in bags of one dozen, with a small sheet inside that lists flavours and foil colours, our ingredients and nutritional information, and a bit of information on how the chocolates are made.

Many of our long-time customers order this way to have chocolates to put in their own bowls, to divide up between friends and family, or to just have some on hand to enjoy.

$12.50 per dozen, plus postage and GST.

ballotin box of one dozen

This is a new package for autumn 2009. It's a smart small box of one dozen chocolates, tied up with a gold cord. All of our ingredients and foil colour decoding information is inside. This is the presentation box - perfect for a gift for friends or colleagues, or as a hostess gift.

$14.50 per ballotin box of a dozen chocolates, plus postage and GST.

Another new package. This one is a classy little box of two chocolates - a maple and wild blueberry centre in both dark chocolate and milk chocolate. We offer this for banquet favours, for use in registration envelopes at conferences, and especially as table favours and hostess gifts for the holiday season. And for stocking stuffers. Did we mention that?

We have several colours available, including gold, blue, red, brown, purple and ivory. Many folks add their own ribbon or gold cord to these boxes to dress them up a bit. For orders of 48 boxes or more we can customise the insert card with your message visible as the box is opened.

$2.75 per small box of two chocolates, plus postage and GST.

cello 2-pak

We also package two chocolates in a cellophane sleeve, for a nice but less "dressy" package. We sell a lot of these as business premiums, for conference registration envelopes, as treats at family gatherings and events, and we have a few hotels who use these as turn-down chocolates. The back of the package is designed to be customised.

$2.25 per cello sleeve of two chocolates, plus postage and GST.

Christmas tins

These are good quality North-American-made tins, each containing 24 of our chocolates. The tins bear a nice paper label that is easily removed to make the tins a functional, multi-use container.

We have several other Christmas patterns, including several Currier & Ives winter scene tins.
our tins

$29.00 per tin of 24 chocolates, plus postage and GST.

We can also mail a tin directly to your friend or relative, and we can include a small gift card with your message on it. This has been very popular in past years.

The cost to mail a tin of 24 chocolates to any address in Canada will be $43.75 $Cdn, which includes the tin, postage and applicable taxes. (We can offer this set price because we have found that as the parcel travels westward the postage cost goes up but the tax rate goes down, balancing out. This will change as other provinces adopt a harmonised GST in 2010.)

Sara's mug and our chocolates

This is one of our most popular gifts: one of Sara Bonnyman's blueberry mugs and a dozen of our chocolates. Sara is a renown potter from Tatamagouche, the next town over, known for her elegant and practical tableware. We have sold many of these mugs with our chocolates, especially for speakers' gifts for conferences.

$28.00 plus postage and GST

We can ship this mug package to any address in Canada, with a gift card with your message on it, for an additional $14 (includes postage and GST).

Shipping into the USA

In 2003 the United States enacted a number of bio-terrorism regulations. In essence, they were creating a paper trail for their food chain, which is not a bad thing. The problem for small producers like us is that we would have to register with the US FDA, engage and pay a USA-based agent to hold our records, attach a label with 32 data items to each shipment, and give US Customs three hours electronic notice of our shipment approaching the border. For large exporters this is just another piece of paper for their custom brokers to deal with, but for small producers it makes shipments into the USA not worthwhile. It's too much work for a tin of chocolates so we abandoned the market.

On days when Americans annoy me, it seems that these regulations are one more non-tariff barrier to free trade. America only accepts free trade when it is in their interests. Canada exports 2.1 million barrels of oil per day to the USA; I'd like to see a data label attached to each of those barrels . . .

(As of July 2010, Canada was the top exporter of oil to the USA (2.1 million barrels per day) followed by Saudi Arabia (1.1 mbbd), Venezuela (1.0 mbbd), Nigeria (1.0 mbbd), Mexico (.8 mbbd). We can export our western oil because we import almost the same amount in the east, from countries like Norway, Nigeria and Venezuela. Someday this tidy arrangement will begin to come undone . . . )
